After Kulna representatives met with Yossi Havilo, who holds the parking portfolio of the Jerusalem Municipality, and Nissim Dayan, head of the “Merhav Kedem” police station located in East Jerusalem, the Municipality decreed that:
Throughout Ramadan, during the hours before and after prayers: From 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM and from 8:00 PM to 11:00 PM, there will be no parking tickets issued to cars parked in spots marked with blue and white or with red and white in the Old City and throughout East Jerusalem. However, any car that is parked in a dangerous manner: closing off a lane, blocking a crosswalk or a pedestrian path, or illegally parking in a space meant for people with disabilities, will be issued a ticket in accordance with the law.
Thank you Yossi Havilo and to the Jerusalem Municipality for working with us to implement parking solutions that reflect the needs of the city’s Muslim population; we look forward to working together in the future to effect policies that benefit all of the city’s residents.
Ramadan Kareem!
